Tucker Torpedo - Broken Dream by Medvezh Tucker Torpedo - Broken Dream by Medvezh
This is a Tucker Torpedo 48. The car's destiny was to turn all other cars into obsolete junk over one night. The first car with seatbelts, doors extended to the roof for easier entering, areas where passengers could crouch before unavoidable impact, central lamp turning with front wheels, 9.7 litre (589 cui) modified helicopter engine in the rear to minimalize amount of smell and vapours from engine in the interior, safety glass which breakes into small pieces, new rubber discs suspension, safety roof frame and INSANE aerodynamics. All of these in 1948!!! Sad, but problems with all the new parts led to engine swap for Chevy 8-valve and Tuckermatic transmission for Cord. Tucker was charged from misappropriation by the investors and even he wasn't found guilty, Tucker's name was damaged. The dream was broken and production ended with 37 completed cars plus another 14 were later built from free parts. 47 survived and when auctioned, they can easily reach 1 million USD.

This one is dedicated to all who tried to bring their dreams in reality, even it failed.

Fantastic! I'm working on a Tucker Sedan right now. I've posted the first rendition in my gallery. Not even close to being this good yet. What medium did you use to do this?

See I was close :) I was guessing colored pencil. It's very good, my instructor told me I was nuts to try and do the Tucker, but it's got such awesome lines and curves.

Of course when we introduce something superior in the world the others will want to take it down. ._.

The engine that wound up going into the production Tuckers was NOT a Chevrolet engine; it was a Franklin opposed-6-cylinder ("flat" 6) engine, originally air-cooled for helicopter use but converted to liquid cooling. It was 334 cubic inches in displacement. Only the original prototype (which still survives) has the 589-cubic-inch opposed six, which was not a helicopter engine, but was developed by race-car driver Harry Miller along with Preston Tucker solely for the Tucker car.

Cool! You do not see these on deviantART very much!
I like the composition with the car filling the page at an interesting angle. You gave it a great sense of space with the irregular pavement and the reflections along the side.
Your proportions look good, and you did a fine job on the foreshortening. You did an excellent job of capturing the lines and character of the 1948 Tucker.
You have a good range of values here. And good use of value changes to show the planes and contours of the body.
It's a sterling piece of work from you again!
